Meals on Wheels
A community project - the month of April is McCabe’s month to deliver Meals on Wheels in Bismarck at noon time. McCabe servants deliver meals to shut-ins.
A Bismarck/Mandan community project - Held on a designated Saturday in April or May the project brings community servants together to improve the homes of low income elderly people. Homes are fixed up structurally to achieve safety and warmth which enables owners to continue living independently. View pictures of the McCabe servants who participated in the "Rebuilding Together". McCabe is making a difference in the Bismarck/Mandan area.
Open Door Blessing Tree
An annual fund raiser during Advent for the Open Door Community Center, in Bismarck. Two Christmas trees are erected in the sanctuary and members are invited to purchase a tree ornament. The monetary gifts are used to purchase supplies etc. for the center. At the Open Door Community Center children and families receive Christian-based education and support services, enriching them to become responsible members of their families and community. The building and program are owned and operated by the United Methodist Church.
An annual project in support of the United Methodist Spirit Lake Ministry Center located on the Spirit Lake Reservation in North Dakota. Gift wrapped shoe boxes are filled with age and gender appropriate items. The shoe boxes are distributed to the children on the reservation who might not otherwise receive a Christmas gift.
An annual church-wide project in the fall of the year - items are collected for layette, health, school and sewing kits. The kits are assembled and shipped to a United Methodist depot. From the depot the kits are distributed to areas of disaster worldwide including the Dakotas.
