Rev. Mark Ehrmantraut, Discipleship Pastor

I am a United Methodist because I appreciate our denomination's acceptance of people wherever they are in their faith journey.  I believe our faith is a faith of relationships, and we live out our faith when we support one another growing in faith and we reach out seeking to make disciples of Jesus Christ so together we can change the world.

Together we help each other grow in our relationships with God through Jesus Christ.  Together we help others grow in their faith.  Together we unleash the power of the Holy Spirit.  Together we serve the world.

I was baptized and confirmed right here at McCabe and McCabe was instrumental in my life growing up.  While this laid a great Christian foundation for me, I didn't really develop a strong personal faith in Jesus Christ until I was in my late 20's or early 30's.  After wrestling with God's call on my life for a number of years, I started serving in pastoral ministry in 2008.  I served in Aberdeen, SD, for five years and Beresford, SD, for three years before coming to Bismarck in the summer of 2016.

Brenda (my wife) and I met on a blind date during our senior year at North Dakota State University.  We both completed graduate work at Miami University (OH) and have both worked in the field of education, in various capacities, for a number of years.  Our son, Berk, is in his second year at American University in Washington, DC, and our daughter Marin is a junior in high school.

We have responded to God's call on my life to pastoral ministry to serve God to the best of our ability.  Ultimately, it's not about us.  It is about loving God and growing disciples for Jesus Christ.  My prayer is that, together, we will humbly and boldly serve God in whatever manner we are called and directled.

In service with you,
Mark E.
